The Insight Theatre gala is a little more than a week away, which means long days of work that stretch into long nights of work, a little sleep and then up and back at it in the morning.
There have been a few breaks to do fun things like host a Victoria Day hang out and have my picture taken by Ottawa’s favourite photog, Justin Van Leeuwen. But I haven’t taken the time to document any outfits. It’s probably for the best. For the most part I’ve been dressing in whatever clothes I find on the floor by my bed. I may have accidentally worn the same tank top three days in a row.
Long story short, I’m neither looking nor feeling especially sexy this week. But that doesn’t mean you should suffer. So here, from my Fashion Porn Pinboard, are some high stylin’ looks that may be out of my real-life price range, but are wardrobe staples in my fantasy life.
Vivenne Westwood Plaid Day Dress
Worn in the opening credit montage of Adorkable Undies – my new hit TV show! This dress is featured in a brief clip of me hailing a cab with my clutch purse. And what is Adorkable Undies the television show about? The same things as this blog – sex, relationships and me falling down a lot.

Burberry London Gaberdine Trenchcoat
Worn en route to my feature interview for Bust Magazine. When the editors set up the appointment they tell my assistant “We’ll do the interview at a restaurant of Nadine’s choosing. Cost is not an issue. Wherever she likes, we’ll cover the tab.” My assistant relays the message and I’m suddenly overcome by the pressure of choosing a fabulous luch place. Hastily, I blurt out the first place that comes to mind. That’s why I’m headed to the Bridgehead in Hintonburg. Still, I’m gonna make the magazine buy me TWO ginger cookies.
Like a boss.
Tadashi Shoji Black Lace Gown
Worn to opening night of the Metropolitan Opera. As soon as I step out of the limo, the paparazzi’s flashbulbs go wild. I wave and smile brightly, buoyed by my apparent awesomeness. The press LOVE me tonight! As I make my way into Lincoln Center, Kate Winslet pulls me aside and whispers, “You have toilet paper stuck to your shoe, love!”

Cynthia Rowley Multicoloured Dress
Worn during my appearance on The Colbert Report with Ultimate Secret Boyfriend Stephen Colbert. Our on air-discussion is quick witted…and fraught with sexual tension! After the show, I mention my love of karaoke. “What a coincidence. I love karaoke as well,” Stephen tells me.We head to a little-know New York City spot where the crowds are sparse and the rotation is short. We laugh, share a plate of spicy fries and sing a heartfelt rendition of The Doobie Brother’s Black Water. Suddenly, The Man of Mans walks in. He and Steve make out.
Best day ever!

Alberta Feretti Beaded Tulle Cocktail Dress
Worn at my New Year’s Eve Party. Guest arrive at my kick-ass, 6-bedroom, party house in Sausalito, California. They are served sparkling champagne and green licorice appetizers. The main course is cupcakes. The music is funky, the dancing goes all night and my shoes are roller skates. You are all there with me and I must say, y’all look GOOD!
Do you have any fashion fantasies? What celebrity would you like your partner to make-out with?
