This week I feel sexy in…
…fun, flirty, FLORALS!
Apparently April showers DO bring May flowers. At least in my closet. The thick hoodies and bulky sweaters are giving way to sundresses and t-shirts. I generally avoid florals in my winter wear. The colours are darker, the material is heavier and the effect can be overwhelming on a petite frame like mine. Also? Floral knitwear makes me feel like I’m wearing rug hook.
I do love flowers in spring but I’m ass at gardening. So I’ll happily settle for wearing pretty, light-weight clothes covered in colourful blooms.
This dress is so sweet and diaphonous. I thought it’d been fun to kit it out with some hard, metallic accessories.
Like last week’s featured look from Les Prix Rideau Awards, this outfit is almost entirely pre-loved. The shoes are the beloved purple Mary Janes I found earlier this year. The belt and cuffs came from my favourite neighbourhood thrift store. The dress is my most recent score, purchased at an amazing vintage shop in downtown Fort Myers, Florida.
This skirt is one of those wardrobe misfits that doesn’t work with most of my winter tops and I find too warm for summer. That leaves spring and fall, which are fleeting seasons ’round these parts, so I probably only wear this a couple times a year. I won’t get rid of it, though. I love the shape, I love the colour and you can’t see it in the photo but the tweedy fabric has little dots of colour woven into to it. Delightful!
May is my favourite month! I love the weather and the promise of the summer to come. In Ottawa, funly times abound with The Tulip Festival, The Great Glebe Garage Sale, Ottawa Race Weekend and my favourite stat holiday – Victoria Day!
And didja know? May is also Masturbation Month! Brings new meaning to the expression “spring has sprung”.

I love…everything in this post. I am totally coveting your wardrobe. Especially sweet: those purple shoes, those flowered shoes, and that new dress from Florida. COVET, I say.
Thanks Lynn! And BTW, the floral shoes are available at The Shoe Company…on SALE!

The dress you found in Florida is gorgeous! As usual, all the outfits make you look wonderful!
Thank you so much! The Florida vintage shop was phenomenal. The owner is a former actor who collects one of a kind, couture pieces from around the States. She had a gown that Edith Head designed for Elizabeth Taylor. That, of course, was just a wee bit out of my price range.
Beautiful. Will our dress be featured one day? x
Oh yes! But of course that entry will have to feature both of us.
